I like it too! Been hooked the last 3-4 seasons - somehow I missed it when it first started! Guilty pleasures! That and SVU is one reason I will not schedule classes on Tuesdays any more!!! The show is very inspiring tho. I used to be a self proclaimed "fat ass," although I wasn't nearly as heavy as most of them are half way thru the show much less when they arrive at camp... but I'm now smaller than I was in Junior High and I have to say that show serves as motivation to stay thin! I just can't really stand the hostess... she is SO overwhelmingly dramatic at elimination. She should stick to soaps! But you know another fun weight show... Curtis from the brown team last year was worthy of the finals -- I felt so bad when he didn't make it back on the show after all of the weight he'd lost. Wasn't it Mark who begged to be voted off that took his spot? So disappointing... And, yes, this year, the green (or black, depending on how you look at them) couple shouldn't have gone home first either. Totally undeserved. Maybe it's a race thing, I don't know. With my wife being a dietitian, she's sorely upset they don't focus at all on healthy eating; just working out like no normal obese person ever could unless they were forced to for months. The insane weight loss in entertaining to watch, but not many of the contestants keep it off (as they even stated last season). One thing we did notice this year is that the black contestants never make it very far, and they only ever seem to have 1-2 per season. Why? For instance, the first couple sent home were the black couple this season. Oh, and making the black couple the "Brown Team" last year was just wrong! It's like the Power Rangers all over again. Let's make the asian team the Yellow Team. And the girl team the Pink Team, etc. I think we missed the first season and then a shortened family season, but we’ve been hooked on it for the last 3 seasons.
