I hear ya.  I can imagine in some parts of the country that the number fluctuations were/are so up-and-down that the number does seem kinda silly.  Sometimes the value of one of my cars does the same sort of thing but the general trend is still downward so it still hold some weight with me...

Either way, I have no intention of selling my house so if the value of it drops considerably, it won&#039;t bother me.  I think a lot of people lose sight of that fact -- if you&#039;re not planning on selling, well, who cares what the value is?</description>

		<description>What do we do if our zestimate is larger than what the city thinks our house is worth? Do we reverse the weighting? ;-)

I stopped trying to figure out what my house was worth b/c the value was fluctuating so wildly. I had no confidence the number I came up with was correct (whether it was smaller or greater than the purchase price).</description>
